ABOUT US

What is a church? A place to go on Sunday morning? At Metropolitan UMC, we are more than a place to meet and greet. With us, it’s always time to meet the needs of the broken-hearted, those in need, and those who have been left behind. The Beacon Center is a space for our neighbors to find hope, care, and love.

The Beacon Center is committed to our neighbors. We offer community meeting rooms, outdoor meeting spaces, free WIFI (indoor and outdoor) across the entire property.

The Beacon Center is home to several nonprofits that partner with us to offer holistic care for our neighbors. We partner with providers committed to meeting the need of the whole person. Our team includes Community Workforce Navigators who assist individuals with adult education, training, and work development. In addition, we have Community Ambassadors who work closely with individuals and families to match them with mental health services, entrepreneurial development, substance abuse, HIV/Aids, Domestic Violence and Veterans support, education, employment referrals, counseling, and many other areas of need.

The Next Steps program is a space to offer those entangled in the criminal justice system an opportunity to access resources and a space for change if they should choose it. Those who have been arrested and awaiting sentencing will be offered holistic wrap-around services to meet any other needs outside of legal support.

The program is designed for those participants who are court-referred to manage their struggles, hardships, or unmet needs. This six month program is laser-focused on partnering with the local city of Montgomery court including, Veteran’s Court.
