Metropolitan United Methodist Church, organized in 1927 with civil rights and justice in the
forefront. Our mission is to bring the members and community into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Our vision is to impact and renew Montgomery, and beyond with the transforming message of Jesus Christ through words and actions.

Together, with the strength of God’s love, we build communities.

MEET OUR PASTOR

Pastor Richard T. Williams II is the anointed visionary leader whom God has sent to lead Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL. Pastor Williams is guiding the church through a period of reconciliation and transformation by forward-thinking and bridge-building. Pastor Williams is the first African American to be appointed by Aldersgate UMC in its’ 100+ year history. He was ordained as an Itinerant Elder in 2015 from the Atlanta North Georgia Annual Conference of the AME church. God has blessed him with an amazing combination of diverse life experiences, which prepared him for his appointment at Metropolitan UMC.
