Metropolitan United Methodist Church has been a beacon of faith, hope, and service in Montgomery, Alabama, since its organization in 1927. Located in Alabama’s capital city, a community rich in history and known for its significant role in the Civil Rights Movement, our church stands on a legacy of faith, justice, and commitment to serving others.
From our beginnings, Metropolitan United Methodist Church has remained committed to bringing individuals and families into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Inspired by God’s love, we continue to serve our congregation and the wider community through worship, fellowship, outreach, and acts of compassion.
Throughout history, Black churches have played a vital role in advancing civil rights, promoting justice, and strengthening communities. In that same spirit, Metropolitan United Methodist Church remains dedicated to sharing the love of Christ, standing for what is right, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
